Natural Ingredients
Eye Complete's natural ingredients include:
Vitamin A
This popular vitamin is essential for eye and vision health. In
our body, vitamin A is required by the retina for its proper functions,
including for night vision.
Vitamin C
Amongst its many health benefits, vitamin C can help keep the
lens of the eye from developing cataracts and being damaged by
ultraviolet (UV) light and cigarette smoke.
Vitamin E
Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant that can protect the eye from
cataracts and macular degenerations, two leading causes of blindness
in older people.
A clinical study showed that taking vitamin E can cut the risk
of developing cataracts in half.
Zinc
Our eyes actually contain the greatest concentration of zinc in
our body. This essential element is required for the conversion
of beta-carotene into vitamin A.
Selenium
Selenium is a trace mineral that is needed for boosting immunity
and fighting off infections. It can also help prevent cataracts
and macular degeneration by acting as an antioxidant that neutralize
free radicals that can damage the eye's lens and macula.
Copper
Copper is an essential trace element that is required for the
proper formation of collagen, a component of the connective tissues.
N-Acetyl Cysteine (NAC)
NAC is an amino acid similar in structure to cysteine, a building
block of proteins. In our body, NAC helps stimulate the production
of antioxidants.
L-Glutathione
Glutathione is an amino acid that protects the tissues surrounding
the lens of the eyes.
Zeaxanthin and Lutein
Zeaxanthin and lutein are major components of the macular pigment,
or the pigment found in the macula of the eye.
The function of the macular pigment is to absorb short-wave light
that enters the eye, thereby protecting it from damage. Macular
pigment is also required for acuity vision (i.e. for reading).
Lycopene
Lycopene, derived from red fruits and vegetables, is a carotene
with one of the highest oxygen quenching (free-radical neutralizing)
properties. Lycopene keeps our eyes healthy by protecting them
from damages by harmful free-radicals.
Alpha-Carotene
Alpha carotenes are a form of carotenes or botanical pigments
with high antioxidant properties. These compounds are found in
carrots and pumpkin.
The carotene's antioxidant properties can help protect the eyes
from diseases and damages due to free radicals.
Cryptoxanthin
Cryptoxanthin, also derived from Dunaliella algae, is an oxygen
derivative of carotenes.
