Natural Ingredients
Anchor Health's Downsize ingredients are:
Chromium
This essential trace element is required by the body in the metabolism
of protein, fat, and carbohydrates.
Although not yet conclusive, studies have also suggested that
chromium supplementation may help increase muscle mass and reduce
fat, possibly by boosting metabolism and increasing the efficiency
of insulin in transporting glucose to the body's cells.
(-) HCA Alpha Hydroxy Citric Acid
Alpha hydroxy citric acid (HCA) is the active ingredient of the
Indian fruit Garcinia cambogia. The rind of garcinia is especially
rich in HCA, which is believed to help weight loss by blocking
the conversion of starches and sugary food into fat. Studies have
also suggested that HCA can help regulate and suppress appetite.
Gymnema Sylvestre
Another herb of Indian origin, gymnema is a climbing vine used
in traditional Ayurvedic medicine to help digestion and weight
loss.
The active ingredient of gymnema, called gymnemic acid, can block
sugar receptors in the taste buds, thereby suppressing the cravings
for sweet taste as well as the sugar receptors in the intestine,
to prevent absorption.
Gymnema extract has also been suggested to help lower and maintain
a healthy cholesterol level.
Vanadyl Sulfate
Derived from the trace mineral vanadium, vanadyl sulfate can help
the body's regulation of healthy blood sugar levels. Vanadyl sulfate
encourages the use of proteins and carbohydrates in the muscles,
rather than their conversion to fat.
